Kari Kastango’s work supports relational steadiness so clarity and choice can emerge.
Her approach is shaped by a deep sensitivity to shame, emotional inhibition, and the longing to belong — offering a calm, steady, non-judgmental presence.
WHAT I LISTEN FOR
I listen to the words you say — and the body underneath the words.
I listen for the pause before the truth.
The breath that disappears.
The reflex to explain.
The moment your body braces for rejection.
The part of you that wants to stay safe by staying small.
We do not shame those strategies.
We get curious.
We slow down.
We let the body show us what it has been carrying.
From there, something new becomes possible.
Clients often describe feeling “deeply seen and less alone.” Kari’s warmth, grounded curiosity, what-you-see-is-what-you-get authenticity, and gentle humor help people feel safe enough to explore what isn’t neat, polished, or figured out yet.
Outside of her work with clients, Kari is the first person known to have swum the full 410 miles of the Connecticut River — an expression of the same resilience, patience, and respect for strong currents that she brings to her 1:1 work.
